Mistakes happen. Here’s how we handle them.

How to report a mistake
If you spot an error in a BB Sports News article, the fastest way to get it fixed is to email the editor directly at corrections@bbsportsnews.com or use the “Report a correction” link at the bottom of every article. Tell us the URL, the claim that’s wrong, and the correct information if you have it.
How we handle a correction request
An editor will respond to every legitimate correction request within 24 hours. We will investigate the claim, check it against our sources and the available data, and either issue a correction or explain our reasoning.
- ›Factual error: corrected at the top of the article with a timestamp and a one-line description of what changed.
- ›Misleading framing: clarified inline, with an editor’s note at the top.
- ›Disputed but defensible: response sent to the reporter, no edit to the article.
- ›Outdated: marked “Updated” with the new information and date.
How corrections appear on the page
Every corrected article shows a “Correction” banner at the top with the date of the correction, the change made, and the reason. Original story versions are archived on request — we don’t rewrite history silently.
Major corrections
If a correction substantially changes the story — e.g. retracting a transfer claim or correcting a misidentified player — we publish a standalone correction note linked from the homepage for 24 hours.
