Leeds United injury update as Edmund Riemer confirms concerns over Noah Okafor, Gabriel Gudmundsson and Pascal Struijk before Spurs trip

Leeds United head to Tottenham Hotspur on Monday night looking to build on last weekend’s win over Burnley.

Daniel Farke’s side have picked up momentum in recent weeks, but preparations for the trip to North London have not been ideal.

Farke himself missed Friday’s media duties through illness, with assistant manager Edmund Riemer stepping in to face the press instead.
And the update included concerns over several first-team players ahead of the Premier League fixture.

Noah Okafor facing spell on sidelines

Leeds will be without Gabriel Gudmundsson. The Swedish left-back missed last weekend’s match and is a confirmed absentee for Monday’s trip.

“I think, as the manager already mentioned last week, Gabi will be out for this week and then we need to assess him on a daily basis so hopefully he can be with us as soon as possible,” Riemer told the media on Friday.

Key forward Noah Okafor picked up a calf injury in the FA Cup semi-final defeat to Chelsea, with the Switzerland international now expected to miss the next two matches.

“Then we have got another one with Noah who picked up a calf strain so he will miss the next two games. We are hopeful that he will be available back for the last game,” he said.

“He sustained an injury after the FA Cup game in the calf. It was the right calf where he got a contusion. And, in the Burnley game, the left calf.

“So likely will be out the next two games and, as I said, we are hopeful that he will be back for the last game.”

Pascal Struijk is another concern ahead of the trip to Spurs after suffering a hip problem, although Riemer has not fully given up hope on the defender.

“Pascal is not going to train today with us. He has a hip contusion, so got a hit. He will train individually but we are hopeful that he will be available,” he said.

Despite the setbacks, Leeds travel to the capital in decent spirits after their victory over Burnley. However, the absence of Okafor in particular removes one of their most dangerous attacking options.
