Nottingham Forest look to reunite Vítor Pereira with midfielder after impressive loan spell

Nottingham Forest have identified Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Marshall Munetsi as a primary target for the upcoming summer transfer window as Vítor Pereira begins to reshape his squad.

While the collective focus remains on the final four matches of the Premier League campaign, the pursuit of the 29-year-old, it has now been confirmed by reports in France that preliminary talks have taken place regarding a potential switch for the Zimbabwean international, who is currently excelling on loan at Paris FC.

Munetsi joined Wolves from Reims in February 2025 but moved to the French capital on a temporary basis for the second half of the 2025/26 season to maintain his match sharpness.

Since arriving at the Stade Jean-Bouin, the midfielder has established himself under Antoine Kombouaré, netting four goals in 13 appearances and acting as a decisive factor in the club’s rise to 12th in the table.

His physical presence and goal-scoring threat from deep have seen him described by French publication Foot Mercato as the “true boss” of the Parisian midfield.

Despite his success abroad, no formal negotiations have yet taken place with Paris FC, providing Forest with a window of opportunity to bring him to the East Midlands.

The prospect of a move to Nottingham represents a potential reunion between Munetsi and Pereira, though the player has privately indicated that staying in Paris remains a preferred option.

However, with the Zimbabwean currently under contract at Molineux until 2028, his future remains largely in the hands of his parent club.

Wolves may view the 34-cap international as a valuable asset to sell on as they navigate their own budgetary requirements this summer.

For Forest, Munetsi’s profile offers the presence that the coaching staff believes is essential for surviving the physical demands of English football, particularly in the holding midfield role.
